Many people feel unfamiliar when they hear the electrical switch box. In fact, if you are about to renovate, or are in the process of renovating, then you need to learn about it.

Wall switch box, as its name implies, refers to a box hidden in the wall. It is common in homes behind the switch panel, and the wire connectors are generally placed in it. Unlike the switch panel, it is more convenient to replace if it is broken. It is troublesome to replace the cassette. Surface mount switch box is also a common style of switch box, but this article focuses on the former.

In order to avoid the trouble of replacement, so we must pay attention when purchasing. In the following, we will discuss how to choose a high quality safety switch box.

A Few Points of Buying a Switch Box

1. On-site inspection.

The switch socket box commonly used at home is made of PVC. Quality home switch boxes generally have good impact resistance, high temperature resistance, flame retardancy and other characteristics. So when you buy it, you can test it on the spot and burn the surface with a lighter to see if it is flame retardant. Or drop it to the ground to check its impact resistance.

2. Accurate size.

The normal standard of screw spacing of plug switch back box is divided into 4 points for connecting holes, 6 points for connecting holes, etc. Generally, you need to check it when you buy. Because of the inaccuracy of the size, the switch socket will not be installed firmly, and it will even cause cement mortar infiltration inside the socket back box, so the details are not sloppy.

3. The space size of the switch bottom box.

Generally, we have to choose a PVC switch socket box with a larger space. Because the large space is conducive to the stretch of the wire, it is more beneficial to heat dissipation. After all, it is ultimately inside the wall and will not affect the aesthetics.

4. The quality of the screw mouth.

The screw port of the back box for sockets is preferably a threaded copper core with an insulating material, which can reduce the occurrence of slippage. There are also screw ports on one side of the bottom box, and the thoughtful design contains a certain space for up and down movement. This is to ensure that the socket can be smoothly fixed on the twin socket back box even if it is inclined.

The switch bottom box must be of better quality. Because sockets are often plugged and unplugged in life, if the quality of the cassette is not good, the fixing screws will be pulled out, and the outer panel will be separated from the cassette.

In short, the switch bottom box must be purchased, which can better protect the safety of electricity. But the type and size of the switch bottom box need to be mastered, so that the selection will be relatively simple.
