Copper, brass and bronze are all popular metal finishes in interior design. All three provide warmth and unique style. The three are usually used for door handles, lighting, sockets and switches to increase the overall appearance of the surrounding environment. Related products mainly include brass lamp holder with switch, copper double socket, polished brass sockets and brass light switches, etc.

The three sounds adjacent to each other, but in fact the difference is very obvious, which makes it sometimes difficult to choose which material is best for a particular interior design project. This article focuses on exploring the appearance of each metal.

What Is Copper?

In the construction industry, copper is used for various pipes, pipe fittings, and decorative devices. Copper is a beautiful and popular metal finish, widely used in classical and modern decoration. Although it looks similar to rose gold in some respects and can be used in similar environments, the color is slightly different.

Copper has appeared in many kitchens. These devices mainly include copper floor socket, copper light bulb holder, and other lighting devices and even pots. Copper is often used for common surface treatment of pots and kettles.

Copper is an element that is pink-orange. It matches well with the pastille colors of blue, green and soft blue-green, but it can also complement white, black and gray.

What Is Bronze?

Bronze is the earliest alloy in the history of metal smelting. Compared with pure copper (red copper), bronze has high strength and low melting point. Bronze has good castability, wear resistance and stable chemical properties.

Bronze tends to be darker than copper, but still has a reddish color. It is very popular as a finish for sockets and switches, and its appearance is more classic. This can really add a touch of style to the room. And bronze can be combined with brass very well.

What Is Brass?

Brass usually has many finishes, including antique brass, brushed brass, satin brass and polished brass. Each finish has a different shade and different feel.

Yellow has a soft yellow and usually looks similar to gold, but has a dull appearance. Brass is an alloy composed of copper and zinc. Brass composed of copper and zinc is called ordinary brass, and if it is a variety of alloys composed of two or more elements, it is called special brass. Brass hardware and brass electrical switch parts are more widely used fields of brass.

When used to emphasize the overall decoration, these three beautiful finishes can add real warmth and character to the room.

For the high-quality twin gang socket and three gang socket on the market, tin phosphor bronze and brass are generally used for copper. Among them, the live wire and neutral wire sockets are made of tin-phosphorus bronze, the appearance color is light purple red, with strong toughness, good resilience, long plug-in life, and strong electrical conductivity. The ground wire socket is made of brass, the appearance is bright yellow, the conductivity is good, the toughness is good, and the resilience is good. According to the requirements of the national standard, the normal service life of each jack must reach a service life of more than 5000 times. Some inferior products will use iron sheets or other materials with surface coatings and falsely claim that they are copper.

If the insert sleeve made of iron sheet is used, the electrical conductivity of the material is very different from that of copper, and it is easy to rust, which will increase the resistance. Overheating when energized can cause internal flashover and scorching of the panel, which may reduce the service life of the product, and may cause a fire in severe cases. In addition, overheating of the socket will also reduce the insulation performance of the insulating material or even lose the insulation effect, causing leakage accidents.
